Tax & Regulatory Advisory
Understanding what a business will actually owe, and to whom, before you commit to a market.
What this involves
Corporate tax rate analysis by market
We set out the headline corporate tax position in each market so that a market decision rests on real numbers. As a starting point: Saudi Arabia applies 20% corporate income tax to the non-Saudi share of profits and Zakat (generally 2.5% of the Zakat base) to the Saudi and GCC share; the UAE applies 9% federal corporate tax to taxable income above AED 375,000; the UK applies rates from 19% to 25% depending on profits; and the US applies a 21% federal rate plus state taxes. Thresholds, reliefs and sector rules vary, and the position is confirmed with licensed local advisers at the time of engagement.
Withholding & cross-border tax exposure
Payments crossing borders — dividends, royalties, service fees — often trigger withholding tax obligations that are easy to miss until a payment is queried. We identify these before they become a compliance problem.
Entity-level tax structuring
The right entity type and ownership structure changes a group's effective tax position meaningfully. We factor this in alongside governance and investment considerations, not as an afterthought.
Regulatory filing calendar management
Tax and regulatory filing deadlines differ by market and rarely align neatly. We help build a single calendar view across every market a business operates in.
Outside Pakistan, anything that requires a local licence, including advice on local law, filings and representation, is carried out by licensed professionals in that market, coordinated by LISORBIS.
